Can I just tell you that the days I forget my phone are my favorite days? I don't even mind when I forget it and go out of town. I hate my phone. I also don't have Twitter. I figure it's one of those things like smoking: just don't start.

EEEK! I have mice in my attic. First I heard them scratching around working on their nest (husband seemed unconcerned) then I saw something on the floor ("what could this be?") and it was obviously a piece of mouse house and then I look up and some mouse house is poking through the ceiling tiles....

they can't get in my pots and pans from there, right? They would have to climb the walls and they can't right?

    Eeek! But I agree...no chemicals.

    So cute!! Take halloween pictures?

Middle Way for the Mice: Call your local exterminator and ask about their live traps. We used to live in the country and we got these probably through the Peta catalogues my mom used to have around the house. There are cheaper ones you can get too, but even one of these is good. You just put something tasty in them (peanut butter on a cracker? The classic cheese?) and then check them twice a day- when you get one you can just take them safely outside and both parties are unscathed.

Worth a try- they worked for us when I was growing up! =)

I'm not much of a decorator either in the traditional sense. I don't really want to clutter my place with statues of ghosts from Hallmark. If I'd had the time, it would have been fun to go a more natural Halloween decorating path, but I'm not sure how exactly one does that.

I was going to get a pumpkin, but then I didn't want to spent the money on something I carve and look at and then throw away in 3 days. So, I'm going to make a pumpkin pie instead. So, I would say your pumpkin flavored desserts totally qualify as getting into the Halloween spirit.

I'm going as Catherine from Wuthering Heights to both my jobs and I am anticipating no one knows who I am. Oh well, it will amuse me.

Ah! I love that you're going as Hermione! I hope it's an amazing time.

And the mouse? I think I have one in my kitchen, but I've never seen it. And my pup has never seen it, either, or I would know. But I find droppings everywhere. :/

I am SO relieved to hear that work is getting better. I go through hills and valleys... it's a love hate relationship with work.. this week is a bit of a valley, but I know it will get better soon.

I haven't dressed up for Halloween in SUCH a long time. I miss it!

http://thegreenists.com/tip-of-the-day/tip-of-the-day-eco-friendly-mouse-control/981 - hope this helps with the mouse. Whatever you do - don't vacuum mouse poop. It can be a health issue.
